@AppleOfAvalon@sleepy_devo I have seen both. They run in small circles in the LGBTQ community. I have meet people that have been abused by their parents and those who have not. Typically they don't open up about it to just anyone. But it comes from the bible belt in to the cities to escape.
@AppleOfAvalon@sleepy_devo I think you misunderstand the nature of what is happening here. It's not really happening in blue city's, what is happening is the kids who grew up like that live in the country and migrate to the city as soon as they are able.
@AppleOfAvalon@sleepy_devo The state should never raise kids, but a matriarchy and patriarchy are just as bad. Limiting your scope to either 1950s leave it to beaver, which never really existed or a state run gulag is incredibly reductive.
@AppleOfAvalon@sleepy_devo The problem of abusive parents has never been solved? The hell are you talking about. Child protection services is a band aid at best and the courts throughout history and country have always had biases and corruption.
@sleepy_devo While love and respect should be given to family and friends, it is ultimately conditional. You kill a random person, family or no, I am turning you in.
@CameronCorduroy You know, I used to think the cuck thing was a joke or over blown... I am not so certain anymore. I think it boils down to a sense of inadequate prospects so they lash out at something they feel bad about.
@AbsoluteUnit30 This is horrifying in how familiar it is. I was never the addict, my mom was, but I have seen all of this and man, it kinda hurts. Like shit, I have been there, seen that, done that. It is funny, but also I cringe at how... normal it was to me.
