R500 million Spaza Shop Support Fund was established to support township entrepreneurs and small businesses to grow. Today, we asked two simple questions:
How many Gauteng spaza shops have benefited from the fund to date?
How much of the R500 million has been disbursed across the province?
The Department of Economic Development failed to provide clear and straightforward answers to these basic questions .{ Watch}
They attempted to shut down this lady who was explaining the difficulties we face in competing with Somali spazashops. They completely disregard the same government regulations put in place to protect the public, allowing them to sell their goods at a lower price.
You’re dumb if you think an individual that travellled from Nigeria, Ghana, Pakistan, Ethiopia etc. illegally is coming to South Africa to be a law abiding citizen.
It's easy to defend illegal immigration when your children go to private schools, your family uses private healthcare, & no one in your household is struggling to find work. Ordinary South Africans live with the consequences every day, while the elite debate from a distance.
