#IITA, @RwandaAgriBoard, @CipotatoRW & @BiovIntCIAT_eng are training @WrrRwanda field staff on crop production, post-harvest management, climate-smart agriculture to improve market readiness. The skills gained will be shared with farmers through cooperatives and learning groups.
A new nutrition-focused initiative promoting the cultivation of iron-rich beans and vegetables in school farms is set to improve diets and reduce school feeding costs for more than 445,000 learners in Karongi, Nyamasheke, and Rusizi districts.

From waste to wealth
A story of cassava peels transformed into animal feed known as High Quality Cassava Peels #HQCP, substituting maize-based feed ingredients which are costly and scarce on the market.
IITA capacitated entrepreneurs like @KabizuGroupLtd to produce it.
#RUNRES project organized an awareness session for partner SMEs on standards & certification. Much appreciation to @rwandastandards for an engaging and informative session. Standards & certification are key for scaling innovations such as #BSF farming& #HQCP processing in Rwanda

As part of its sustainability approach, @CANALLS_Project convened farmers & agri-processing actors to learn from agroecological trials in @Kamonyi. Practices showcased: soil erosion control & cassava intercropped with beans.
#Ephrem, a baker in @RusiziDistrict is seeing major success after training with #GwizaMuhinzi project by @IITARWANDA on incorporating High-Quality Cassava Flour (#HQCF) into his recipes. He finds it more profitable, cost-effective way to bake.
