My guy has been saving 100,000 naira monthly since January just to open a small business for his girlfriend after her graduation. Her graduation was yesterday.
Earlier this month, she said she was sick and needed 430,000 naira for treatment. He was reluctant but she kept pressing. He sent 500,000 naira.
We attended her graduation yesterday and she showed up in a very clean wig.
That evening he asked how she got it.
She admitted everything. She was never sick. She lied to get the money because she knew he would never give it to her for a wig.
He said, "I had plans for you."
She sent laughing emoji and "Agba event planner. Leave that thing."
He showed her the receipt. A savings account with her name on the tag. Over 900,000 naira saved specifically to start a business for her after graduation.
She cried immediately.
She has been begging him since yesterday.
Above all, love God.
On my way back from work, I saw this beautiful pair of shoes in a man’s shop around Lagos Island.
I asked for the price, and instead of telling him I couldn’t afford it, I asked if he had it in burgundy.
Before I could say anything else, this man just took off. He went to look for the burgundy shoe from his friend’s shop.
15 minutes later, he came back with the burgundy shoe.
I had no option but to buy it.
This Igbo man’s marketing strategy needs to be studied.
My cousin resigned from his ₦250k job because he thought his father would use the ₦32 million gratuity he received to sponsor his master’s in the UK.
My uncle retired and was paid over ₦32 million as gratuity.
Excitedly, my cousin resigned without informing anyone in the family.
He immediately applied for his international passport.
When it was ready, he told his dad:
“Dad, my international passport is ready, sir. I’m seeking opportunities for my master’s in the UK.”
His father simply replied, “Okay.”
The next day, my uncle’s cars arrived.
One for him.
One for his wife.
My cousin became furious.
“I thought as your only son, you had a plan for me to go to the UK?”
My uncle replied:
“I have been having plans for you, and I fulfilled my plans for you.
Now, it is my time to fulfill my plans for myself and my wife.”
My cousin is currently looking for a job…
My HOD celebrated her 50th birthday last month.
The staff in the faculty contributed ₦500k and gifted her. I suggested that my department should also get her a big picture frame, separate from the general contribution.
They said there was no need for that.
As usual, I still sent her a birthday package with an extra ₦50k to her.
We attended the birthday party, ate well, and drinks were everywhere.
Last week, management asked all HODs to recommend staff from their departments for a three-day training.
My HOD submitted my name.
I got selected.
The training came with a total of ₦1.2 million in expenses paid for us.
My colleagues are angry because she chose me.
The bus I entered this morning, I sat beside a lady who was smelling like stockfish. I looked around to see if there was stockfish under her seat, but I couldn’t find anything.
We were stuck in traffic and I was struggling to breathe properly. Since I wasn’t sitting close to the window, I was already feeling like throwing up.
So I tapped her gently and said, “Ma, please, are you perceiving this stockfish smell too?”
She said, “No ooo, maybe na your nose.”
I immediately switched to Pidgin. “Omo, this smell dey choke me for here o.”
She said, “Maybe na from outside. Sorry.”
I just rested my head and a few minutes later, she rested her head too. That was when the smell hit me directly from her hair.
I said, “Madam, abeg check your hair.”
She said okay, removed the rubber band from her hair and you guys…
THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE RUBBER BAND. 😭😭😭
This woman used a stockfish rubber band to pack her hair. 😭
She smelled it and said, “Ah, no vex o. Na the soup I cook yesterday. The stockfish rubber I use tie my hair.”
We both burst out laughing and she threw the rubber band outside.
That’s how I finally managed to breathe properly till I got to my bus stop.
This Lagos sha. 😂
For a mother to actually come to the school with the intention of fighting the teacher, it tells you there may be a serious problem with how the child is being raised and disciplined at home.
It also raises questions about the kind of behaviour the child has been exhibiting at school.
For a child to have the confidence to use a cane to beat a teacher, that is a serious act of disrespect and indiscipline. It should make any responsible parent concerned about what else the child may be doing at school.
Parents should not always rush to defend their children without first finding out exactly what happened.
Sometimes, protecting your child means correcting your child.
So I got to my kids' school yesterday and met a parent fuming with anger. She had come prepared to confront her son's teacher for fl0gging him.
Even though I was already done with what I came to do, I sat down quietly. I wan hear gist.
When the teacher finally came out, the head teacher asked them to go to the office, but the woman refused.
She said the teacher must explain why she fl0gged her son.
The teacher then explained that while she was teaching, the boy was playing and making noise. So she picked up a cane, lightly tapped his back and told him to keep quiet.
She continued teaching without thinking much of it.
Only for the boy to get up, pick up the cane and flog the teacher back.
That was why the teacher had to discipline him.
Instantly, the mother went quiet.
And this boy is just 6 years old!
You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life. Fall in love with some activity and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about and it doesn't matter.
Adulthood humbles you. It'll turn you into a prayer warrior without you even noticing. As you grow, you start to understand that nothing in this life works without God.
I saw a Nigerian registered nurse talking about how her husband sponsored her Master’s in Nursing in the UK.
For two years, this man was converting naira to pounds without complaining. He even travelled from Nigeria to the UK to help his wife take care of the kids while she was on clinical placement.
Today, she’s a registered nurse and proudly giving her husband his flowers.
Omo many marriages are actually thriving. Na the bad ones dey get the most PR.
