He may appreciate the player (on normal run) for cooperating. we have no idea how he feels about Kris as we don’t get to see those one on one asides of the two talking

It seems clear ralsei understands the extent of the player’s role in the overall prophecy and their control over Kris (he does all the tutorial/controls info for us). In the fight the player goes above and beyond to win so of course he would

@PC_bug @MaagicMushies evidently the knight couldnt beat them? so long as the battle keeps going theyre unbeatable if the player/soul is skilled enough. Knight can beat the gang but not the soul.
The kris nodding feels like a signal of “yeah this isnt working we gotta do something else” (the cutscene)

@PC_bug @MaagicMushies imo the mantle scene is setting up something else, where kris has to actually ‘use up’ them for some ultimate goal (sword route?). in the knight fight if susie catches up the entire jig is up so kris needs to force a loss when the knight cant. no killing just a delay for the plan

@bIusquared @chachifox @CedDrawsNear My read on this was ralsei knows the Kris they’re talking to is a soul-cage composite and adresses them accordingly as the ‘brave’ one responsible for deciding to keep fighting. Ralsei’s had many times to talk to Kris alone, and likely uses those to confront w/o the soul hearing

@Prydro @CedDrawsNear No matter how the fight goes its not a game over (nobody dies), you just get put on your ass and that gives the Knight the time to escape. Minigame is the idea of actually sliming them out

@Prydro @CedDrawsNear the way I’ve always seen it is in the mantle game, it’s actually killing them. ‘Using them up’ for some ultimate means. In this instance, Kris knows that, for whatever plan or deal they have, they can’t win this fight so they need to knock down his friends. Sandbagging to lose
