I’ve done it. My 4th marathon and first with #longcovid. Sadly it didn’t go to plan as I got cramp in both my legs! It started at mile 16 didn’t stop it so I had to walk the rest of the way. Bit gutted as I wanted to run but it was so painful. Crossed the line though!
I am 45 today. I’ve had ME for 23 years and Long Covid for 1.5 years. I planned to spend some time in the wheelchair today, but it turned out to be one of the worst days in months. Party party. So I want to say something general that applies to millions of people across the world: acute chronic illness - like ME or Long Covid - generates uncertainty. How long will this episode last? Will I permanently get worse? Is this something new? What does this mean for my life expectancy? How can I suffer this much and not be dying?
Finally received my copy of 'After Covid', a book by @business senior editor @jwgale. Thank you, Jason, for giving scientists like me the space to tell our story without political bias.
#COVID and #LongCovid also changed my life.

This is shattering news. What a wonderful person, artist and collaborator. I was lucky enough to direct, produce and act in projects with her and she was simply growing more brilliant with each year. My heart goes out to Bo & family. #RIPCatherineO’Hara https://t.co/7pWcpYARai

Even before last night's final of The Traitors this pre Six Nations The Sporting Club rugby lunch was selling so fast that we expected it to be completely sold out by the end of the month.
We obviously thought a Props Lunch with Dan Cole and @JoeMarler would be popular, but we didn't know Joe would then recreate himself as a TV star.
The result? Members are clamouring to snap up places and tables before it's too late.
It promises to be one hell of a way to get 2026 going.
And whether you see yourselves as a faithful or a traitor, it's going to be a lot of fun.
Photos with our star guests, printed and framed and given to you, drinks reception, three course lunch, lots of interviews, plenty of afters.
PS: We have a Johnny Sexton dinner in Dublin, too, on 15th January!!
Book now: https://t.co/3grklUCJIT

@kaleighf WOW. I refuse to use ChatGPT, especially as the AI tool aided him in killing himself. AI is dangerous and thinks for itself (as well as replaces humans)
Looking for a good home projector to include in my home buys gift guide in The Telegraph’s Christmas Inspirations supplement

The Best Way to Network - invite your clients to join you for an afternoon of good food, plenty of drinks and the best sporting entertainment, in a room full of potential business for you.
That's what's on offer at The Sporting Club's next lunch at Quaglinos with the mighty Graeme Souness on October 23rd.
Forget about having a coffee in your office with someone important to your business. Treat them to a memorable day out at a classic Sporting Club event.
Football is the great God of British sport, so the chances are you or your client are fans of Liverpool, Rangers or Scotland, which makes Souness particularly appealing.
But it does not matter if you are not because all our star guests transcend their sport as their stories are parallels of life and business, especially if you happen to be one of Britain's most decorated football players and managers.
As if that's not enough, top boxing promoter Frank Warren (in bold) will be in the room too, so you can catch up on all things boxing from a man who has been at the top of his game for almost half a century.
Throw in welcome drinks, photos with Graeme printed and framed for you to go home with, a three course lunch with wine, an in depth chat with Graeme, and plenty of afters in a room full of like-minded people who enjoy having fun, their sport and especially doing business, and this could prove to be a massive day for you and your business, never mind a day full of fun, insight and memories.
If you've not been to one of our lunches before you've missed a lot of superstars and a lot of networking and business development opportunities, but it's never too late to start.
And if you are familiar with our events then there's nothing more I need to say.
See you on the 23rd. Worse case you'll have a great day.
