Man City have spent close to £500 million in the last 16 months and are now throwing around £120 million bids for Premier League midfielders like it’s nothing.
Meanwhile, clubs like Everton keep getting punished for financial breaches from years ago.
The contrast is genuinely staggering.
We’re now years on from the infamous 115 charges, yet there’s still no final ruling while City continue spending at an eye-watering rate.
At what point does the Premier League actually deliver a verdict?
You honestly couldn’t make it up.
City bidding £120mil for a player Newcastle had to sell to comply with FFP while still having not had a single punishment for 115 charges. On the day Everton are punished yet again for one overpayment that only occurred because of the War in Ukraine. Football has become a farce
Some members of the billionaire Glazer family have been debating whether to sell their stake in Manchester United FC, after more than 20 years of ownership that has often been blighted by fan protest https://t.co/yn8zjFzVG5
🚨 Ryan Giggs on Morgan Rogers reportedly demanding Champions League football before considering a move to Manchester United:
🗣️ “I’ve never really understood that mindset.
If a player truly wants to play for Manchester United, he should want to come because of the badge, the history and the challenge of helping the club get back where it belongs.
You don’t join Manchester United for one competition.
You join because you want to be part of building something special.
It’s not like Morgan Rogers is guaranteed to win the Champions League or score 40 goals just because he’s playing in it.
Football doesn’t work like that.
I actually agree with what Ruben Amorim said about this type of situation.
The club has to be careful about bringing in players whose motivation is tied to a particular competition.
Because what happens when you’re not in that competition?
Does the hunger disappear? Does the freedom to play disappear? Does the commitment drop?
Manchester United need players who want to fight for the club regardless of whether they’re playing in the Champions League, Europa League or nowhere in Europe.
The best players I’ve played with wanted to represent Manchester United because they loved the club and wanted success here.
That mentality is more important than any competition.”

@Nuel006 Goldbrick is a shill… why on earth give him airtime… his job is division and rage bait
Something Scholes, Butt, Keane and Neville have all gone balls deep into ..
It shows the character… it’s sad coz as players they were exceptional but as men 😔
@MickRuby_MURTV Glad that fan tv socials are finally calling this… Goldbridge isn’t a Man Utd fan he is a Man Utd opportunist. The fact Neville has got in bed with him says all that needs to be said. Actions always reveal character
EXCL: #MCFC have been informed by the independent commission that they have reached a verdict on the #115 charges! Pep was informed by #MCFC that they expect a hefty points deduction and transfer ban which led pep to leave. Announcement in June, With @TheUnitedWire_
🚨 🔴🎙️: “I think it’s time someone tells Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes the truth.
If you don’t want to support Manchester United or the players, then maybe stop constantly criticising everything about the club. You all have football projects and clubs to focus on — put that same energy there and try to build something great.
As a former player, it hurts me seeing someone like Roy Keane call Bruno Fernandes a ‘donkey’ 🐴. Bruno has carried this team through difficult moments and deserves more respect.
Sometimes, it honestly feels like some ex-players don’t want Manchester United back at the top because they fear this generation could create its own legacy. Criticism is fine, but constantly tearing the club down doesn’t help anyone.”
People going into bat for Roy Keane because he's a Manchester United legend miss the point. He isn't being criticised for his contributions as a player, that is entirely separate from this issue with Bruno Fernandes.
Keane lied when he spoke about Bruno Fernandes. It has been called a misquote, but it was worse - he lied. When called out, he responded with a childish IG story that dodged any & all accountability for said lie.
If you aren't separating player from person, you're way off the mark. Defending him based upon 'standards' is embarrassing & does not make him or those defending the bearer of them the way they think it is.
Bruno Fernandes quite literally said you're welcome to criticise me but do not lie about things I have never said. If you can't understand understand why all of this is a problem, it's because you might be part of it.
