Democracy needs us.
Not a day goes by without remembering that Jared Kushner is way overdue in filing his legally required financial disclosure.
If you're going to negotiate foreign policy, you can't head a firm that's bankrolled by foreign governments.
It's really not that hard to understand.
Vance on Socialism: The idea that you can build real prosperity by redistributing assets from one group to another group, that's not how you build prosperity.
A lot of powerful men seems to think that another powerful man assaulting and terrorizing a woman is something they both should “sort through on a family level.”
Reporter: Mike Johnson said in an X post: “There is an urgent question facing America. Are we going to maintain our status as the world’s greatest superpower and beacon of liberty, opportunity, and security, or allow radical Marxist Democrats to destroy the very foundations that make us the envy of the entire world? Democrats now openly express disdain for America and embrace the failed, dangerous, deadly path of communism. We must take a stand and fight to protect the greatest nation in the history of the world from being overrun by mini-Mamdanis.”
Mamdani: That’s a lot of characters. He must have the Pro account.
Well, I’m assuming that’s in response to Abdul El-Sayed’s victory yesterday evening. First, I’d just like to congratulate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed on his victory. He ran a campaign that was best described by his words: “Money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for All.”
And if those simple commitments and beliefs are what drive Representative Johnson to these kinds of conclusions, I think it shows you how deeply out of touch the Republican Party is with the concerns of working-class Americans.
Because what we have seen is that, despite him facing more than $60 million in outside spending, he was able to prevail with a focus on the cost-of-living crisis and the way in which health care is exceedingly out of reach for those who have helped make this country what it is.
I think what’s really bothering the Magats/Migats is that the DSs like Mamdani and El-Sayed are running on a platform rather like the one MAGA once had—no new wars, no foreign entanglements, the first priority of governance should be the well-being of the citizenry, that sort of thing.
And what scares the Magats/Migats is that the DSs actually seem to mean it, it’s not just advertising fluff like it was for Trump.

All ballots are about trump & his entire cabal. All the way down ballot the crazy republicans are all in on trump & staff's nutjob policies that are destroying USA.
Everyone needs to pay attention. We're not exaggerating.
@maddenifico Yes, that's why I heard a Pundit on @mppmsnow spew idiotic BS yesterday, "trump isn't on the ballot". That is typical of Dems' strategic failures. How can trump NOT be on the ballot? Dems should make every Repub OWN everything he's done. Put trump, 'on the ballot'. #morningjoe
@AdamKinzinger What a stupid idea, shut down the government over the arch right before the midterms. With Trump and Republicans giving us material to run on every day why would we take the focus off by starting a shutdown fight with Americans struggling. It's just dumb.
Who can doubt that the GOP’s Christian faith is entirely sincere? Today, for instance, the Senate devoted the entire morning to a dramatic reenactment of the Cruxifiction of Christ, with Dr. Fauci in the title role and some fine supporting work from Rand Paul as Pontius Pilate.
Get out to the polls and vote TODAY. I hope to have your support as the Democratic nominee for Governor.

The face of the GOP is now Max Miller. And the message of the GOP, as eloquently stated by John Cornyn, is now: “There’s nothing we can do to rein in the president.”

Trump - who is stupid - is frantically trying to stave off a court order that requires him to begin giving the BBC financial details on his business empire by Thursday. It's all because of his stupidity - his stupid defamation lawsuit stupidly filed against them. Trump’s attorneys - who are stupid by extension -filed an emergency stay motion, urging a magistrate to lift the order she issued last month that the British TV broadcaster is entitled to information on the financial performance of hundreds of Trump’s companies because he stupidly claimed his “brand, properties and businesses” were damaged by a documentary the BBC aired in the U.K. in 2024, stupidly.
maga's all I ain't votin' fer no Muslim.
"...Trump’s favored primary candidate for a battleground House district, Amir Hassan, lost to a little-known Republican who raised only $1,850, ran no TV ads and had suspended his campaign last month." (NYT The Morning 8/6/26)
Joe Biden had a bad debate. Approximately 765 stories and opinion pieces in the NYTimes.
Donald Trump had 300 bank accounts closed because of evidence of money laundering. Nothing to see here, says the same NYTimes.
Democrats have legislation that will make Social Security solvent for as far as the actuarial eye can see without cutting benefits.
Where's the Republican proposal? It doesn't exist. - @SenWhitehouse
Stephen Miller: There’s a point of no return with communism… look what happened to Los Angeles, NYC… When leftists get control, you can't save your community because they hoard power. They suppress dissent. They get control over institutions. They get control of over taxpayer dollars
