I didn’t die, but I didn’t live.
I was caught between worlds
a walking mummy, wrapped in silence,
lost in the shadows of what once was.
I wandered, unsure
whether to crumble into dust
or step toward the light of a life
I had grown terrified to claim.
Scared of love.
Scared of hope.
Scared of dreams that might ask me to feel again.
But the longer I walked,
the less I searched for something more.
The noise fell away.
The fear grew quieter.
Until one day I understood:
I didn’t need to find a new path.
I only needed to unwrap myself
layer by layer
and become who I was
before the shadows taught me to hide
I am me.
