Hunter Privett, Madison De Boer, and Dr. Xueying Liu presented at ASA's Fall Technical Conference. Dr. Liu spoke about prognostic variables in clinical trials and Madison and Hunter shared their work in water and wastewater treatment, done in collaboration with Dr. Mandy Hering.

Last week, students in our department presented their work at JSM! Caleb Fox presented on Numerical Methods for Parameter Estimation of Spatio-Temporal Hawkes Processes. Nathen Byford also presented his work titled A Bayesian Spatial Scan Statistic for Under-reported Data.
STA 2381 went to Bletchley Park today.
They learned about the code breakers and how the idea of Bayes rule was used to break the codes to bring an end to WW II. They also got to play around with some AI by guessing if the video is real or AI.
