@billboard@luminate please explain to me with extreme precision how @LaRussellGC marketing plan disqualifies his album sales but J. Cole’s marketing didn’t?
Just for clarification if his store is set up through one of the Billboard channels all the CD sales that are sold through a POS system/website will count and EVEN sales already count towards Billboard
None of the Trunk Tour sales or direct-to-consumer numbers are even included.
Numbers don’t determine whether an album is good—but it is worth noting Cole pulling this off with 80K+ in pure sales is insane.
J. Cole really is 1 of 1.
@BrianZisook Yo Z I appreciate you educating people on what’s what in music. I see so much bs and don’t have the heart to correct so I just chuckle and keep scrolling. You’re doing God’s work lol

There’s not a shortage of amazing male R&B artists. Maybe an oversupply of artists in general sure, but there’s definitely a shortage of fans that support these incredible artists. If you want the cream to rise BUY THEIR MUSIC, MERCH, TIX & SHARE THEM HOW YOU JUST SHARED GIVEON.
They should’ve never made music sales numbers easily accessible by the general public. Too many people listening to music with calculators instead of their ears
