A series of questions.

What is being grown?

Is it just financial wealth? If so, why?

Who will gain from this?

How will losers (because there will be some) be compensated?

Is this sustainable?

How will inequality be addressed?

What happens of growth is unequal and the regions of the U.K. are still left behind?

What if we don’t need growth in financial wealth, but instead need growth in:

- Healthcare
- Education
- Social care
- Justice
- Support for the vulnerable
- Sustainability
- Biodiversity

How do these grow? If there any link between those goals and the growth Labour wants?

And how will Labour in government deliver growth without spending more when no one knows how governments can do that?

So many questions and no hint as to the answers.

In that case, why choose growth? It makes no sense unless the expected outcome is known and planned.

Or is planning itself anathema now, and we are just meant to rely on the goodwill of those who might gain?

I wish I knew, because I don’t and Labour aren’t saying, which makes statements like these really troubling.

If there’s a national mission, at the very least we need to know why, and how we gain. At present, we don’t and that makes me think that Rachel Reeves does not know either.
