Following the gas explosion on London Road in Blackburn yesterday evening, a number of road closures are still in place.

Due to limited resources, the busiest roads are prioritised by the gritting and ploughing teams to ensure they are kept open and safe.

Temperatures are set to fall to MINUS 5 during the early hours of tomorrow morning 🥶 and the freeze will continue over the weekend.

Over 3,000 tonnes of rock salt is spread on Blackburn with Darwen’s roads each year.
The Borough has over 340 miles of roads, with 165 miles of them gritted as part of the primary and secondary gritting routes. 🚚

⚠️ Traffic advice – potential disruption on Saturday! ⚠️
We wanted to alert you to possible disruption on roads in and around Blackburn town centre from 2pm Sat 28 October, due to a planned peace march which is expected to attract hundreds of people.
Anyone who will be in these areas from 2pm on Saturday should consider their route, or allow more time for journeys.
This includes anyone travelling to Ewood Park for @Rovers v @SwansOfficial at 3pm.
