RE: Hijab Discrimination at Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre
The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been drawn to an incident at the Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre in Ibadan.
Through its monitoring mechanisms, the Board observed the occurrence during the screening exercise for the first session of the examination day on Thursday, 16th. The Board promptly intervened by calling the ad hoc official involved to order and issuing immediate instructions that no candidate wearing a hijab should be asked to remove or alter it.
The Board wishes to state clearly that this act was neither perpetrated by the centre nor part of its official protocol. Rather, it was the action of an overzealous ad hoc staff member who failed to adhere to the Board’s established guidelines regarding candidates’ religious attire.
JAMB categorically affirms that such actions are not in line with its screening procedures. The Board respects the religious beliefs and customs of all Nigerians and has addressed the situation promptly and appropriately.
We assure all candidates, regardless of faith, that their rights to religious expression including dressing remain a cornerstone of our policy.
For the avoidance of doubt, all ad hoc staff have been further briefed and reminded of the approved procedures for screening candidates at all centres

Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
Every now and again, the Muslim girls’ right to religion is trampled on by intolerant people under the guide of education.
I hope @JAMBHQ review this incident, and put more effort in place to ensure this never happens again.
please, repost .

As of April 2nd 2026, my friend remains at Paris Orly Airport a Canadian Muslim woman from Toronto who traveled alone to perform one of the most sacred acts of her faith, and has been fighting her way home ever since. Her luggage is in Casablanca. Her money has been spent on tickets that should never have been necessary. Her embassy took hours to respond. Did nothing to help. And an airline called Flynas has never once, through any of it, done right by her. She deserves to get home. She deserves compensation. And she deserves for her story to be told. She needs help now ... not tomorrow not after the embassy opens it's doors and studies her file in few weeks ! @MarkJCarney@AnitaAnandMP@CanEmbFrance

Abuja, Nigeria – Joseph Phillip Nanmwa a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Popularly called E-MONEY from Langtang North Local government area of Plateau State, has reportedly been held for over 65 days by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) without being charged.
Phillip, who was teaching Mathematics and Physics at the International Model Science Academy in Abuja, was arrested after organising private coaching lessons for students preparing for scholarship exams, a move the school owner claimed was unauthorized.
A fellow detainee, Chimezie Otuojor, revealed that NSCDC officials demanded ₦1.3 million plus ₦120,000 “commandant’s charge” as a condition for his release. Phillip’s health is said to be deteriorating, and he reportedly lacks adequate food.
Otuojor also alleged that similar unlawful detentions and extortion occur regularly at the FCT NSCDC command, with detainees pressured to pay millions to secure freedom.
Efforts to obtain comments from the NSCDC have so far been unsuccessful. The appropriate authorities should please look into this and allow this Plateau indigene to regain his freedom.
@wemabank
My friend woke up to ₦7,994,240 missing from his account and he did NOT authorize the transaction.
The debit happened on Feb 28, 2026 from his Wema Bank account. He reported it on March 2 and was issued Reference 6425921.
Since then we have followed up multiple times but nothing has been done. No refund. No proper explanation. No resolution.
Almost ₦8 MILLION gone just like that and the bank is silent.
This money is someone’s business capital and life savings. The emotional and financial damage this has caused cannot be ignored.
We are calling on Wema Bank to urgently investigate this unauthorized debit and return the funds.
Everyone please tag Wema Bank until they respond.
Banks must be held accountable when customers report fraud.
@wemabank we need answers.
⚠️ Help amplify this. Tag them until this is resolved.
It is no longer a secret that, Sani Waspapping, has been abducted by the DSS.
From what we have gathered so far, on Friday evening around NEPA Roundabout in kaduna, @Waspapping_ was picked up alongside a friend who was later released. The arrest is allegedly linked to a post he made on X regarding the US and Israel.
At the time, we deliberately chose to exercise restraint because some individuals came forward claiming they were “handling it” and assured us they were mediating behind the scenes to secure his release “everything is under control”. We gave them the benefit of the doubt.
But it is now Tuesday, and Sani’s whereabouts remain unknown. We have also received information that he has been moved to an undisclosed location.
At this point, it is becoming increasingly clear that some people are more interested in protecting their own positions and keeping their noses clean than actually doing what was necessary.
Let me be honest: People in power can burn anyone if it helps them remain close to power. I know a lot of you might not agree with what Sani was doing and rightly so, I don’t either. Desperate times…
Enough of the pretence.
We are therefore calling on everyone who genuinely believes in justice and due process to step forward. Do what you must on your end, and we will do what we must on ours, because this situation is clearly getting out of hand.
We call on the DSS and all relevant authorities to immediately release Sani Waspapping. If there are allegations against him, he must be formally charged and taken before a court of law without delay. Due process is not optional; it is a constitutional obligation.
A team of lawyers is already being assembled to formally engage the DSS and other relevant authorities in order to establish the legal basis for his detention and demand accountability.
Nigeria is a sovereign nation governed by law. Our institutions must operate within the framework of the Constitution, not in a manner that suggests arbitrary detention, external pressure, or disregard for fundamental rights.
The silence, the secrecy, and the games being played around this matter must stop.
My brother, Major Ibrahim Umar Mairiga, was shot and killed in Maiduguri today while serving our country. He has paid the price for the nation. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give us the strength to bear this loss. 🇳🇬
In the last 12 to 24 hours, recent headlines report that:
1. Bandits invaded Digare community, Bauchi State.
2. Bandits ambushed travelling passengers in Kogi State, while shooting the driver.
3. Bandits tortured a captured NYSC member.
4. Bandits invaded and abducted many people in Kogi State near Government Technical College.
-Bauchi is a Muslim State, Kogi is partly a Muslim state, and the corper being tortured pleaded in the name of Allah, (For the sake of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), please help me. Please help my life).
Again, this is the holy month of Ramadan; Now tell the public why bandits will be attacking and torturing people at this time, since a lot of you want to link the insecurity crisis to just Islam, instead of just addressing them terrorists that are affecting us all. Kindly explain.
