I follow your posts and appreciate your sage perspectives. Thank you for your honesty on this particularly poignant and heart-wrenching subject—the weak link in my personal faith.

First, if God is all-powerful and all-good, why is there so much evil and suffering? Second, how can we as Christians trust God in the face of evil?

If this is of interest, here are a couple of helpful, readable books for your consideration. The first one, by Lewis, you may already have read, as it is a prominent classic.

• “Can God Be Trusted?” by John Stackhouse Jr. (2nd edition)
