I live in a Muslim country. My best friend is a Muslim woman who played a massive role in bringing me back to the Christian-Catholic faith after years of being agnostic. She never tried to convert me to Islam. She always builds bridges between both religions.

Yes, we can be friends. It’s not only the Catholic Pope saying it; it is written in the Holy Qur’an:

For 20 months her father has been fighting a legal battle to save her life. He lost. But there are no winners in the other side, what will be done to Noelia bears the weight of a state’s execution. This is not a dignified death.

She was under state supervision, taken away from her parents, and within that responsibility she suffered a gang rape. The same government that failed in its duty of care is now authorising her euthanasia because of the depression caused by that very failure. This is precisely the kind of outcome many warned about when the Euthanasia Law was introduced.

Instead of surrounding her with the level of psychological support required to rebuild her life, the State is choosing the fastest and cheapest path: allowing her to disappear. It is profoundly disturbing. To reach the point where the same State that allowed her to be gang raped endorses her euthanasia due to the depression caused by that atrocity is the perfect example of how diabolical this world has become.

It’s horrific.
