The hardest part of my job is probably recording. Especially in NYC. Between the noise and the humidity, I’m stuck in a closet until 2 in the morning sweating, hearing my voice grow ever more exhausted hoping for a solid take. But then I wake up (at noon) so relieved it’s done.
Wrapping up work on my First Blood video that’ll come out in a few weeks. It somehow ended up at 14 minutes AND I couldn’t say all I wanted to say. So expect a part 2 shortly after. That’s the thing about classics.
Saw Fantastic 4 last night. Went in pretty blind. Fun time overall. Weirdly struck a tonal chord I was looking for in Superman, but that felt more authentically done here. Liked Silver Surfer’s movements. Liked the character dynamics. CGI & action scenes though… ehhh.
Attended a special screening and Q&A last night of Academy Award winner Mstyslav Chernov’s new documentary, 2000 Meters to Andriivka. Blessed to have been invited by the man personally.
Big news. I’m co-producing a short with my friend Ben Bertic at Hairaising Entertainment later this year. We’ve a Kickstarter going for it with a dope promo trailer you should definitely check out—It’s called The Door That Exits Earth: https://t.co/7LAa86X0pg
Saw Superman last night. Very good time. Found myself more critical of some things than maybe most of the people around me. Certain aspects of the performances and some of the CGI (maybe after just seeing Final Reckoning) took me out a bit. But looking forward to what’s to come.
