It was great to visit with the leaders helping establish the @BYU School of Medicine, an investment in the next generation of physicians and healthcare leaders who will serve Utah families and neighborhoods for decades to come.
Utah’s future will be built by people willing to serve, heal, and lead.
As a community centered on Christ, we are all responsible to improve how we love, include, and help heal each other.
I hope you will ask yourself: What am I doing, right now, to build a community of Christ at BYU?

Where the disciples saw scarcity in the multitude, Jesus saw abundance. When the disciples wanted to send the multitude away, Jesus drew them in. When the disciples saw what was lacking, Jesus saw an opportunity to nourish. As such, these miracles demonstrate what becomes possible in a community gathered around the Savior. - Elysa M. Dishman

We can bring our friends to Jesus, we can bring Jesus to our friends, and we can be a conduit of His healing power by praying for our friends and by rallying our community around those in need. - Elysa M. Dishman

"BYU's mission 'is to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life' — but this is not a quest that can be journeyed alone. We need this community to reach our destination. What brings us together—a love of our Savior and our identity as children of God—must be greater than the pressures that divide us."

I have found in seasons of waiting that studying the healing miracles of Christ brought me hope and increased my faith. I testify that miracles—large and small, hard-sought and unexpected—occur in our daily lives when we are attuned to recognize them. - Elysa M. Dishman

"Restoration — whether of the gospel or of a person — can be painful and challenging, but also glorious and miraculous. And community is woven through every moment of that journey, in the disappointments and the triumphs." - Elysa M. Dishman

Faith and scholarship are mutually reinforcing principles. Study does truly amplify faith, revelation does truly lead to deeper understanding. With these guiding principles, we are able to discuss and ask and answer questions that wouldn't be possible in other university settings. - President Reese

One of the key things we need to do as Christians is to demonstrate to our neighbors and friends that we truly love them. The way that we gain respect of those who disagree with us is to always embody the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. - President Lindsay

The integration of faith and academic learning doesn't need to be a battle. Truth is truth, and often times we don't have a full understanding, but we are seekers of truth, which truths bring us joy and hope. You—our students—reflect the joy of the pursuit of truth. - President Reese
