I picked my son up from school the other day.
Teacher pulled me aside.
Good news: My son finished his middle school project. Bad news: He didn't have time to test it.
Then I realized he “didn’t have time” because his project was a flamethrower built from a fire extinguisher.
So we tested it at home. Near the pool. Just in case.
It worked perfectly.
Most kids are making poster boards in middle school.
Mine’s building flamethrowers.
I'll take it.
@GavinNewsom Gavin...
Elon built amazing things.
Rockets.
Electric cars.
Self-Driving cars.
Robots.
Starlink.
That's why he is a Trillionaire... because he BUILT things people love and want to buy.
What, exactly, have YOU built, Gavin?
Mormon: What do I need to be saved?
Evangelical: Do you believe in Jesus?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: The Jesus of the Bible?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: That Jesus is the Son of God?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: That He died for your sins?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: That He rose from the dead?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: That He’s the only way to salvation?
Mormon: Yes.
Evangelical: Then why don’t you believe in Jesus?
Mormon: …I just said I do.
Evangelical: No, not that Jesus.
Mormon: Which Jesus?
Evangelical: The Biblical Jesus.
Mormon: The one who is the Son of God, died for sins, rose from the dead, and is the only way to salvation?
Evangelical: Yes.
Mormon: That’s the one I believe in.
Evangelical: No, you believe in a different Jesus.
Mormon: How is He different?
Evangelical: Because you don’t believe in the right Jesus.
Mormon: Which Jesus is the right Jesus?
Evangelical: The Biblical Jesus.
Mormon: …
Evangelical: …
Mormon: We’ve been standing in this same circle for three hours, haven’t we?
Evangelical: That’s exactly what someone who doesn’t believe in the Biblical Jesus would say.
It does seem that the LDS are being unfairly singled out here. If the essential criterion for Christianity is Trinitarian theology, why do the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christian Scientists, Oneness Pentecostals, and even Quakers (in some instances) get a pass here?
As of two days ago, the Pentagon recognizes every Christian faith in America as Christian
Except one
That’s not okay, and it needs to change—now
Pass it on if you agree
1. Your accusation of deception confuses disagreement with dishonesty
2. You assume "historic Christianity" is the standard by which Christianity is defined
3. The New Testament standard is faithfulness (not Nicene orthodoxy)
4. The "Jesus and Lucifer are brothers" argument is misleading, and you know it (which is ironic sense you accuse us of being deceptive)
5. Exaltation is not as foreign to Christianity
PS
I will debate you on any gospel-related topic
Bought a $1,742.80 camera online from BestBuy.
The FedEx delivery driver stole it. FedEx admitted it.
But BestBuy won’t give a refund. They said we need to “work with local law enforcement.”
Thought everyone should know if you buy from @BestBuy and a @FedEx driver steals what you paid for, your money is gone. Neither company will make it right.
I’ve spent over $30K at BestBuy and will never spend another penny there.
As I explained in my summation speech on the SAVE America Act during tonight’s vote-a-rama, when we fail to stop noncitizens from voting, we deprive U.S. citizens of their sacred right to vote.
Enough delay.
Enough distraction.
Enough excuses.
Pass the SAVE America Act.
For all the parents out there dealing with a decision... let me give you another perspective
In 2018 my wife and I went in for our 20? week ultra sound at Beth Israel in Boston... the rep was very quiet the whole time, something seemed off. My wife & I were first time parents... didn't have much context. The doctor pulled us into her office and told us our sons nuchal fold was abnormally large... she went on to say there is a significant increased chance of Down Syndrome and even Turner's syndrome... talked about options to terminate the pregnancy. My wife was inconsolable, rightly so ... even thinking about it now brings back a lot of heavy emotions because of how hard of a day it was... hard...
I did a lot of research on the topic ... my wife & I prayed non stop about it. All we could do. The doctors wanted to do an amniocentesis which has its own host of risks..run more tests...
We came to the conclusion, which was not easy... it didn't matter... no amnio, no more tests.... I felt in my soul the Lord's plan was perfect and if our son was going to have Down Syndrome we would love him and shepherd him through this world the best we could. We get what we get. Anything from the Lord was a BLESSING and I was not going to point my finger at Him
Fast forward to today... our son is going to be 8 in the fall. He is perfect. Just hit a homerun the other day... a much better baseball player than I was at his age. My best friend
I share this deeply personal story for nothing more than to give just ONE parent hope... the Lord's plan is perfect... stay the course
True faith is focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ and is a principle of action, trust, and power.
As we act in accordance with the truths of the Savior’s gospel and trust in His promises, we are blessed with the spiritual capacity to “rise up” and press forward through the challenges of mortality while experiencing the joys His gospel makes possible in our lives.
"The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage... but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent... till the purposes of God shall be accomplished..." #LDS
