Original, and rare, London Transport folding Underground pocket map, printed on thin card, No. 2 1934.
An early version of the iconic diagrammatic map. Includes HC Beck printed attribution. In this edition the Bakerloo and Central lines changed from orange and red to red and brown respectively, the East London line was absorbed into the Metropolitan, the Piccadilly line extended from Rayners Lane to Uxbridge, and the north curve removed from Watford Junction.
Had a lovely wander around the Transport Museum Depot in Acton today. So much nostalgia seeing all the old vehicles — definitely brought back some wonderful memories! 🚇❤️
I’ll be giving a couple of talks on Sunday at the London Transport Museum Depot Open Weekend about ten of my favourite posters from the collection
Do come along if you can. Talks from about 11.30, nearest Tube station: Acton Town.
Lots, and lots, of other stuff going on, including tours of the poster stores, and behind the scenes access to collections

I'm thrilled to be giving a couple of poster talks this Sunday at the wonderful London Transport Museum Acton Depot Open Weekend (nearest tube: Acton Town).
If you haven't been to the Museum's Depot Open Day before, it's a great family event, with activities, behind the scenes access, talks and (this time) tours of the world famous poster collection.
I'll be talking about the stories and artists behind ten 'classic' posters from the museum archive, including works by McKnight Kauffer, Abram Games, Tom Eckersley, MacDonald Gill and others.
First talk is scheduled for about 11.30 am, and then repeated later in the afternoon.
Do come along for a really excellent, well organised, event. And, of course, the opportunity to heckle me about poster history.

Our mammoth Rock and Pop Special launches next month.
Over 100 original posters, mainly from the 1970s and 80s and mostly collected at the time by a single owner.

Original, first issue, album insert, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles, designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth. An absolute classic. The Pop Art design features various press-out cardboard cut-outs, including a paper moustache, military stripes, badges, and a stand-up band sign.
