These words from Jordan Burnett lay bare a devastating truth that no family should ever have to endure. His 15-year-old brother, Killian, tragically lost his life following a severe asthma attack after mutiple cancelled appointments over more than FOUR years of waiting to see a specialist.

A systemic failure. A medical misadventure. A life cut far too short.

Killian was an "absolute character" who was deeply loved. But instead of getting the timely care he desperately needed, he spent his final years terrified to even go to sleep, while his family watched in helpless agony. Today, Children's Health Ireland issued a letter of apology in the High Court for the shortcomings in his care, bringing a sense of justice but it will never replace the boy they lost.

Rest in peace, Killian. Sincere condolences to your family and friends.
