That's a wrap, for this year's HKJGW the world's best Jewelry sourcing expo in the world! https://t.co/pkm6etmuNH
Huge thanks to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for running an absolutely amazing expo and the vendors for bringing their finest out!
Also, huge thanks to our team who worked tirelessly to bring everything together. We spoke with hundreds of people throughout the weekend and everyone was thrilled to learn about our partnerships and give Custoria Vault a whirl by capturing items at the expo!!
We received a ton of great feedback and will be updating the app soon. If you're reading this, would love your feedback too!

Getting a card graded proves it's real. It doesn't prove it's yours! Pokémon Worlds was in San Francisco this weekend.
Thousands of people carrying binders they spent years putting together. If one got stolen or damaged tomorrow, almost none of them could prove a single card was theirs.
So every card you add to Custoria Vault starts out the same way: Ownership Not Verified. Add a receipt or a certificate and it updates with history of ownership through transfers, sales, appraisals, etc.
This Nidoking still shows proof on the Custoria Vault, try it on your vault for your entire Pokémon today!

Building Custoria > Updates
We built Custoria for collectors: watches, jewelry, art.
This weekend's user testing told us the market has other ideas.
I met with a materials-science research lab that has been using the app to inventory their equipment: instruments, maintenance records, condition logs, market pricing on replacement parts. They know what their bench is worth today and what a repair would cost them tomorrow.
Nobody there calls their equipment a collection. But the problem is identical: expensive objects, thin paperwork, values that move, and a budget that needs real numbers.
Takeaway: you don't choose your market, you choose your problem. Ours turned out to be bigger than collecting: valuable objects with unreliable records, wherever they live.

Two days ago Google shipped @GeminiApp Gemini 3.6 Flash. Custoria's camera scan already runs on it. ❇️
The swap was seamless. No UI changes, no in-app announcement, nothing for users to relearn. Scan a watch last week, scan one today: same action, same screen, better engine.
That invisibility is deliberate. In a recent post I said we deleted "AI" from the headline of our most AI-powered screen. Name the action, not the technology. This is the same rule seen from the inside: the model is a component, not the product, and components should swap in an afternoon.
The economics are the quiet win. 3.6 Flash uses about 17% fewer output tokens at lower per-token prices. When your product costs single-digit dollars a month, the cost of a scan is the business model.

We deleted "AI" from the headline of our most "AI powered" screen.
The old Add Item screen shouted we have AI and you should use it. A glowing orb, "Add Item with AI" in display type, then three gradient buttons (blue, purple, green) each fighting to be the main event. When everything is loud, nothing is.
Custoria's Add item screen now redesigned within our design system. Updated with punchier contrast to guide users to the main event.
I believe the value prop should be clear and the desired path accessible,AI features and content shouldn't do the heavy lifting, they should be implicit.
Building Custoria: Learnings > GTM
Sunday at @pickwickvintage, @Ferry_Building .
40+ vendors, trays of estate jewelry, vintage Cartier, gold chains. Serious objects wearing handwritten price tags.
While trying on vintage pieces, I noticed a Trinity ring that still had its original red box. The box made it through decades of owners. Odds the paperwork did?
That's the pattern at a vintage fair: the more an object has lived, the thinner its records. Value compounds; documentation decays.
@CLabsHQ is a vault for exactly this. One record per object: photos, receipts, ownership history. Built for people whose inventory currently lives in notebooks and memory.
If you sell or collect vintage and this sounds familiar,
I'd love to talk and share what our team is working on.

We deleted green from every number in our app this week. 😅
Custoria launched in the US and Hong Kong. In the US, green means your asset went up. In Hong Kong, green means it went down. Red is the good color there.
Same pixels, opposite meaning, in our only and two biggest markets.
The product shows what your assets, like watches and art are worth. Color-coding those changes would comfort half our users and quietly alarm the other half.
The solve: values render in our primary color, for HK users. Direction lives in the arrow: ▲ +2.4%, and it reads like a ledger instead of a casino. 🎰
This is the bar we're holding ourselves to understanding the nuance of the people we're servicing, holistically.
Takeaway: if your product shows fiscal value in more than one market, check what your "obvious" colors mean there before you ship.
Great vibe at @UseCorgi cafe yesterday for the @Brex takeover. Met some interesting founders and builders working on everything from a web based vibe coding terminal harness to personal OS. The merch and brexpresso were 🔥
Should @CLabsHQ team make the switch over to Brex?
