ICYMI: We ran into @BenAllenCA, our endorsed candidate for California Insurance Commissioner, at the Wilmington Labor Day Picnic. He shared why he’s voting NO on Prop. 45 this November. 🗳️
The myth: Union construction costs taxpayers more.
The reality: Union-led projects can be completed faster and with significantly smaller cost increases.

Here's the truth about Prop 45: It's bankrolled by special interests and corporations that care about one thing—protecting their profits at our expense. Working families and communities pay the price. Vote NO on Proposition 45 in November.
Happy Labor Day! Solidarity is our strength—on the job, in our unions, and across California. Together, we keep building progress, creating opportunity, and delivering a better future for working families. When workers stand together, we all move forward! 💪✊💥
SBCTC President Chris Hannan joined @AWFUnionPodcast to discuss #Prop45 and what's at stake for members of California building trades unions.

Ben will stabilize the market, restore competition, and hold insurers accountable. He’s on the side of working families—and we’re on his.
🚨 SB 1350 is now law! A major step forward for green hydrogen, clean power, and thousands of union construction jobs.
Thank you to bill author @SenMcNerney and his staff, @GHC_hydrogen for co-sponsoring, and @CAGovernor for signing it into law!
Yes! Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday night signed my SB 1350, groundbreaking legislation that significantly expands the use of green hydrogen, a clean-energy gamechanger.
Boom! Both houses of the CA Legislature today approved my SB 1350, groundbreaking legislation that would significantly expand the use of green hydrogen, a clean-energy gamechanger.
Big thanks to the Green Hydrogen Coalition and @CA_Bldg_Trades for sponsoring SB 1350.
An assessment on billionaires and their assets in California will drive investment out of the state, taking jobs and tax revenue with it. This would put union jobs with healthcare benefits at risk and reduce funding for critical public services, including education and infrastructure.
Any revenue generated by this ballot initiative would be one-time money, not a lasting solution for California’s needs or the failures created by HR 1.
250 billionaires own half of California GDP.
Taxing them at 2% would save healthcare for millions. Healthcare workers have already compromised from 5%.
85% of VC money came to California in Q1 2026. The capital flight argument is nonsense.
The only reason to oppose this is if you want to protect the donor class.
It's about protecting money in politics.
I want a Democratic party that will stand for the working class.
This is a moral test for our party.
Whose side are you on?
