Also worth noting: most OTAs (online travel agents) now offer "guaranteed tickets" even when IRCTC shows only waiting list.

Some even promise 3x refund if the ticket doesn’t confirm.

How are they so confident?
Why do regular users see “waiting” while OTAs see “confirmed”?
