The indomitable Ann Widdecombe was such a good friend and supporter.
We first met when I was working in TV and we did a legal show together on Ch4 ‘Nothing But The Truth’.
I remember her driving from Devon to help me campaign in Wirral West in between TV work and writing. She had more energy and drive than people 1/3 of her age and she’d go out of her way to help a friend.
She was guest speaker at my women’s group in Liverpool and everyone loved her tales and forthright manner.
I even went around the country with her as she did her one woman tour ‘An Evening with Ann Widdecombe’.
She was a one off - they broke the mould when they made Ann - I will miss her friendship, her energy, dry wit and intelligence.
