Season 2 is now 6 episodes deep, and every ep has been an absolute treat. The music, the plot, the characters (both new and returning); it’s all sublime.

Then last year the creator @jacqlandgraf announced season 2 was coming, and I was simultaneously excited and nervous as hell. S1 was such a marvellous and succinct story that I wasn’t sure what to expect from a follow-up. Would it capture what made the show special?

Five years ago when season 1 came out I loved the gradual shift from ‘quirky lady makes a show in her attic about forgotten musician’ to ‘sad lady takes care of mom and makes unexpected friends’ and it all culminated beautifully at the end. The one-and-done season was perfect.
