You know it’s going to be a good year when we are disappointed with a draw against Juventus . The parties we used to throw with Cellino when Matri, Jeda, Biondini, and Acquafresca and co would go to Turin and take 3 points. Maldini and Caprile have changed the culture.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Now we are hopping. 3 pts against Atalanta . A real measuring stick . No real stars but players go the extra mile when they like their manager and keeper. Like I said, the two most important positions at a club. Top level stability there now so wins like these could become common

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

It might be just a club like Lecce, but today shows that a top keeper and player confidence in the manager will lead to these results. This can create a mid table club which can lead to real objectives not seen since the days of Allegri. We all know how special those teams were.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

That was a good effort today . We are strong in the two most important positions , goalkeeper and manager. Really impressed with Pisacane. If Caprile stays healthy we are top half of the table this year. Real leadership exists so let’s find some speedy young players

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Another season ready to go. Age makes us more nostalgic which makes it tough to write a football blog about present day youngsters . That being said, nothing beats Serie A even when the star power is down . Cagliaris best move this offseason was keeping Caprile. 1-0 road win.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Serie A has become so bad that it is literally harder to get relegated than it is to get promoted from Serie B. Maybe Rainieri will come back to Cagliari before we go down.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Even in the rain Caprile is so much fun to watch. His value cannot be underestimated . He must be kept at all costs. He makes everyone on that field more confident which can help a team with less talent win the games they are supposed to and pull off an occasional surprise.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Who says time of possession matters. Tremendous road win against an improving but still relegation threatened Fiorentina. Finishing opportunities overcomes lack of talent and can win you games unexpectedly. When will we take the next step?

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Matches against @juventusfc will always be my favorite . Will never forget traveling to Turin to watch that 3-2 win with wide open back and forth play including that last goal by Matri causing Cellino to go crazy. While not as wide open, today’s win was needed and still fun.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Absolutely huge comeback win in Turin. It’s as much for the confidence as the points. Capriles presence alone will key our survival. Lots of talent but we need to solidify who our players are going to be by purchasing or signing the guys we want with options on the loanees.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

You cannot give away a game at home in the last minute against a fellow relegation foe. Total disaster . Our American investors are going to have to open up the wallets during this winters transfer window. Too much risk of relegation to do nothing

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

No matter what year it is , there is nothing better than a match with Roma . Lots of good memories and much needed points. Shout out to legends Davide Biondini and @Elkabir88 . That American money is coming this summer but we need to stay up. A big step today.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Does anyone think that American investment is going to make a difference ? I’ll buy into it if we get Caprile signed long term and add an exciting midfielder. The guys investing believe Cagliari will stay up but they underestimate the lack of talent. Serie A is bad at the bottom.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Did anyone watch the whole match? How long before Caprile is sold? It’s about maximizing profit right? At some point we are going to need some players especially on offense. The fans especially our young ones deserve some players to root for and grow with. Does anyone care?

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

75 percent of our matches are not worth watching . This comes down to lackadaisical play and no players who stand out individually with real ties to the club. The manager can hopefully change that and would love to keep Caprile but so much is missing . Today showed it

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Doubt we see Belotti again this season. Huge blow . Someone will have to step up.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Not the best result today but the attitude and effort is way better than last year. It’s the leadership of the coach and the goalie. The fans are showing up and engaged with the team. This will help us win the games we should and give the better teams a real challenge .

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Could @gallobelotti be the star man we have been missing for about 15 years . Who remembers those teams? The days of Matri Acquafresca Nainggolan and the supporting players all better than the best we have put on the field in recent years. It’s one game but who knows. Stay tuned.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

So what is your impression of this years squad and start ? We are better than last year, the manager is better, can’t blame the Piccoli sale, but who is going to score? We aren’t a fun club to watch. The relegation battle will be harder as there is improvement at the bottom.

[CagliariOffside @CagliariOffside]

Piscane is an upgrade over Nicola and taking up the option on Caprile was smart . He will make all the guys better. Piccoli was likely bought for a quick profit flip but no deal yet . Who will ante up 30 million? If no one, hes a vital player. We might be better than expected
