After much work by @CityofVancouver staff and the development community, the MultiPlex Report (allowing 4-6 homes on most RS-1 lots, 60% of the buildable land in the City) is public!
Staff Recommend Council:
•Add multiple dwelling as a permitted use to allow the construction of multiplexes as a new housing option with additional units and density;
• Require either a set-rate density bonus payment, a below-market homeownership unit, or secured rental housing for the opportunity to access additional density with a multiplex application;
• Extend passive house incentives to the new multiplex option and simplify the existing passive house regulations;
•Reduce the maximum size of new single-detached houses;
• Increase the maximum size of new laneway houses, and simplify the laneway house regulations;
• Reduce the number of zoning regulations that apply to RS residential zones; and
• Consolidate the nine RS residential zones by rezoning areas zoned RS-1, RS-1A, RS-1B, RS-2, RS-3, RS-3A, RS-5, RS-6 and RS-7 to a new R1-1 Residential Inclusive zone.

Gas spent 20 years owning the evening peak. Batteries took a year to crash the party.
That's disruption. Not gradual, but a rapid shift in who supplies grid's most valuable hours.
The battle was never about total generation. It was about the peak & batteries are winning it.
The new wildlife overpass south of Radium is already helping protect one of the region’s last viable bighorn sheep herds while making the highway safer for everyone travelling through the area. @TranBC

Vancouver Mayoral candidate Kareem Allam proposes that Vancouver International Airport be renamed after Canadian icon Terry Fox.
I think most Vancouverites would agree.
Allam says, if elected, he will instruct the Vancouver rep to the YVR board to advocate for this.
This is something that could be done right away if our federal MP’s could take on this cause today.
@LhommeDesole@3lectricBrawl Couple of times a week. We use the mobile connector as a daily and travel charging option for 4+ years, so it is a handy spot for that. A nice option in winter for keeping things cool also.
1. BC By the Numbers
BC exports to the US are down 14.8% year to date. Exports to Mainland China? Up 17%. The trade map is being redrawn in real time. #bcpoli

@kmartyn5 Elon can do a lot of good but when he says "Canada is not a real country." & puts up 2 Nazi salutes on TV, it is understandable when people in that country don't want to give him incentive dollars. The car is a great product but I can see not giving away tax dollars to help him.
@LUV2SKIPOW@Prominent_Bryan Cool thing about electricity is you can harvest your own on the roof. Most of Canada has better solar access but even in southern BC a house can produce more then it needs with some panels on roof. Then one doesn't need to rotate, just use power and live your best life.
@LUV2SKIPOW@Prominent_Bryan I get your position. You are Oil & Gas & want everyone dependent. For a bit I lived in a home heated by oil furnace. Very expensive to run w poor comfort. My folks got a heat pump, no incentives, just a decision. Prices are quite good. He lives rural, so wood for backup.
@LUV2SKIPOW@Prominent_Bryan Calgary weather is not either. I grew up in Atlantic Canada, heat pumps are common there. They work year round and work well. In colder places like Edmonton they work well with a secondary heating system. Operating each when they lower operating cost.
@LhommeDesole@ChadMoran Ours arrived without a plate. It took me 4 years and a ticket for no front plate, to put it on using a better mount system: https://t.co/7QjfpCF2sE?
@Prominent_Bryan@LUV2SKIPOW We had a heat pump in our 1908 heritage home. It was so good (it replaced a gas furnace) now we moved to a new home and we are getting a heat pump in our new place. Heat pumps deliver better comfort!
