Congratulations @CailanJS, the @QUTMathEcology team are incredibly proud.
@CailanJS has done some phenomenal research into the adaptive features of cellular systems and ecosystems, showcasing some impressive mathematics.
Could not have done it without the fantastic people around me.
Thanks @SarahVollert for being there to bounce ideas off - your support has been priceless. Maybe one day I'll be able to give a presentation as good as you.
Guess who just finished their PhD final seminar! Congratulations @CailanJS!
Thanks for teaching me that you can write your thesis doc in the last few months, that bagels are the highest form of motivation & that you can "accidentally" jigsaw-procrastinate for hours.
The mathematics of life is special. Living systems have a fundamental requirement for FUNCTION, and this imposes tremendous STRUCTURE on the networks of interacting molecules that are compatible with life. https://t.co/t2X19zdOg7
#Maths study discovers fundamental molecular-level design principles that organise all forms of biological complexity into survival-promoting chemical reaction structures https://t.co/18E8KjAvGM #QUT@robynaraujo
Such a great experience to be able to speak at #canziam about work that gets to combine two of my favourite areas of mathematics. Congratulations to @SarahVollert on best student talk. It is fantastic to be surrounded by such great minds. Great night for #QUT
Robust perfect adaptation has been studied outside of ecology & conservation but @CailanJS adapts the theory for commonly used equations in ecology (which is quite challenging) using algebraic geometry! Lots of potential applications @qutmathecology
When you accidentally look like the movie character in your talk ~ nice work @CailanJS, @KateHelmstedt was very engaged 😊 learning about species translocation for conservation at @QUTMathEcology Symposium
Couldn't have done it without your fantastic workshop @JKHopf . I learnt so much and got to put it into action immediately! Just wait until ANZIAM when I have more slides.
@thejholloway I liked Webflow. I liked the creative flexibility and it had good documentation if I didn't know how to do something. Downside - you have to pay to have more than 2 pages.

Writing about my work as if it is someone else's was helpful for me.

SO thrilled to share my latest results from my #ARCFutureFellowship research. We report here, for the first time, a universal description of all possible adaptation-capable chemical reaction networks that can exist in nature, across all domains of life.
