Ohio is the next target in a string of laws that compromise our fundamental freedoms.
Here Executive Director @turaani is testifying against SB 87.
This bill undermines the First Amendment and exposes Ohioans to criminal penalties for protected speech.
Today, CAIR-Ohio stood with community members to protest ICE’s actions in Minneapolis and Columbus. ICE has acted as a violent force. We will not tolerate abuse of power and will continue to defend human dignity and civil rights for all.
We urge Americans to join this strike to show ICE is out of control. Shooting innocent people, including U.S. citizens, in broad daylight is one of many ICE abuses. These violations of law and civil rights must stop now.
When hatred and fear win control of someone’s heart, ideas fueled by ignorance evolve into action. Being afraid to stand against hostility only brings us closer to it.
This panel discussion creates space to examine the rising impact of Islamophobia & discuss how we can respond.

Today at the Ohio Statehouse, CAIR-Ohio’s Government Relations Coordinator, Caisha Abdullahi, testified against HB 42.
The bill would require agencies to collect immigration status, discourage service use, raise profiling risks, and add unnecessary administrative burdens.
Tomorrow is Election Day!
Your voice matters, make sure it’s heard. Every vote helps shape Ohio's the future.
Take a few minutes tonight to make your plan to vote and remind friends and family to do the same.
Bilal Ahmed, staff attorney at @CAIROhio and a former immigration attorney at the International Institute of Akron, shares information on what to do during an encounter with ICE. https://t.co/1Hs204sw6Y
"Phil Tottenham, an Ohio veteran who put his life on the line for this country, is now being unjustly held for standing up for human rights. His abduction by Israeli forces is not only a violation of international law but an assault on the values we claim to uphold as Americans, freedom, justice, and the protection of those who act with conscience.
Every elected official has a moral and constitutional duty to intervene immediately. Silence is complicity, and Ohioans will not stand silent while one of our own is targeted for delivering humanitarian aid." @CAIROhio
We are thrilled to announce that Imam Ayman Suliman has been released from ICE custody and his asylum status has been reinstated!
