JMU is like the kid you knew growing up with super rich grandparents. The kid has a good work ethic, good grades, works summer jobs, and makes good decisions.
But when he shows up to school in a $80,000 pick up truck, you know what’s up.
“It’s not even new. It’s used! I bought it!”
Yeah. Okay. Paw Paw Rockefeller might’ve given you a sweetheart deal on the truck but don’t pretend you REALLY bought it.
Just own it. Granddaddy hooked you up! Doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. But it’s a perk!
Split hairs all you want. Claim schools do accounting differently (and they do!).
But the student fees are a MASSIVE advantage for JMU. It’s 75% of the athletics budget!
Are they using this advantage wisely? Certainly seems so! Their football program has been cruising for over a decade and they won a NCAA tourney game. Impressive!
But don’t pretend you simply count beans differently and you’re no different than anyone else, Dukies. Just own it! It’s a huge benefit and you’re using it effectively!
