What a rollercoaster of emotions today.
I went out with my friend around 7 PM and left my phone at home. I was genuinely happy, celebrating every moment of People's CM Vijay's fiery Assembly speech and sharing that happiness with my friend.
We even felt that the prayers of TVK supporters had been answered. The one person we expected not to wish our leader hadn't done so, and everyone was happy. After today's Assembly speech, that happiness had doubled.
But when I came back home around 8 PM and checked my phone, one photo from that very person completely changed the mood.
Why?
A belated birthday post was shared today, and for many of us, it instantly ruined the happiness we were feeling.
It feels like she is never happy when TVK supporters are happy.
Let me repeat this clearly:
We celebrate only the on-screen pair of Vijay and Trisha.
We do not support the off-screen pair of Vijay and Trisha.
I admire everything about our leader, People's CM Vijay, but never any alleged illegal affair.
Sometimes, the very person who makes us happy can also be the person who destroys our happiness.

OHMYGOD CULTURE!!!!
CONVICTED RAPIST GETS STAR TREATMENT AT TEMPLES ON PAROLE
SILENCE.
THIS IS HOW THIS ECOSYSTEM PROTECTS RAPISTS IN THEIR OWN FOLD BY REMAINING SILENT WHEN THE RAPIST IS THEIR OWN.
THAT IS ALL.
You won’t find Indians confronting and shaming men for peeing, pooping, cat calling or sexually assaulting women in public.
But two consenting adults kissing is what disrespects and threatens their culture.
I’ve been going to this gym for 1.5 years. pay bi-annually. (8k for 6 months) i have my AirPods in every single time, i don’t talk to anyone, i’m just there to workout.
today was 7am. maybe 15-18 men in the gym, 2 women including me. i was the only one doing weight training. i don’t get intimidated by that anymore- took time, but i got there. as long as nobody stares, i’m fine.
except today a handful of them just. wouldn’t. stop. staring.
not a glance. not a look. staring. i ignored it. kept going. but at some point it just gets inside your head and ruins everything and i ended up doing 2 back exercises and 20 mins treadmill and left. that was my workout today because of grown men who apparently had nothing else to look at.
there’s also this general trainer. he’s tried to correct my form maybe 2-3 times in the span of a week. i never asked. i have AirPods in. i don’t respond, ignored it.
today he was giving PT to someone on the cable machine. he came to ask if they could alternate. i nodded — AirPods still in, didn’t say a word. my turn comes, and he tries to correct my form. again. nobody asked. again.
i left.
in the parking lot i saw an older trainer i’ve known since i joined. told him it’s uncomfortable, the gym needs a female general trainer. he smiled and said “haan mei baat karunga” — the way you smile when someone’s telling you something that isn’t really your problem.
and then, two guys from inside were leaving on their bikes. one of them had been staring the entire time. still staring. i was on a call. i looked directly at him and waited for him to stop.
he didn’t.
i asked him what are you looking at.
he just left.
i’m not going back. my membership runs till may end and i genuinely do not care.
could i file a complaint? sure. would it do anything? no. you cannot file a complaint against a mentality.
THIS IS WHY PEOPLE SAY UPGRADE YOUR GYM IF YOU CAN. THE EQUIPMENT IS THE SAME EVERYWHERE. THE CROWD ISN’T.
