Last night I got my first big tournament win. After busting all of the big NL tournaments that I was looking forward to playing, including the $25k twice, I was feeling dejected. I came home. Amber sensed I was feeling down, she gave me a big hug and said, "You'll get a win someday when you least expect it." The very next day I busted the $3k without winning a single hand and decided to switch gears by jumping into the $2,200 HORSE Championship event. This was only my 3rd HORSE event ever, with the first two coming earlier in the month. I barely knew the rules, but the games were pretty intuitive to me, I was improving by the hour using a lot of the same principles I use in NL. I ran extremely well to be chip leader coming into a stacked final table. Jeff Madsen, Chris Vitch, and Mike Leah were all in on a row on my direct left. I tried to play my best given the circumstances. Ultimately I got down to heads up with 3.1M in chips to 2.3M, we decided to make a deal and end it at that point. I got the trophy and $60,500. The mixed game community was incredibly welcoming. I had so much fun and can't wait to play more events like this in the future. Thanks to everyone in the tournaments being patient with me while I was learning the games and thanks to everyone following along on IG and supporting me. The vlog covering it is going to be a special one 🏆
