I’m not changing my opinion on a death cult masquerading as a religion that rapes and kills women and girls, throws gays off buildings and bombs its own country in to piles of sand. If you think Islam wants to live peacefully beside you, you’re a fucking idiot.
I’ve been in the loop regarding Milo @Nero through several sources. His interest in Islam is probably sincere regardless of whether or not he choses to become Muslim.
His journey to this point is very similar to the one that people like me from Conservative Christian backgrounds go through before becoming Muslim.
It usually goes in stages like this:
1. You love the West and you hate Islam.
2. You eventually realize the NeoCons (Usually Zionist Jews) were lying to you about Islam and all of these wars.
3. Because the NeoCons lied to you about all these pointless wars, you start to ask….what is the real Islam?
4. You engage with Muslims and discover that Islam has an incredibly rich and nuanced scholarly tradition.
5. You usually go through a phase or deep interest in Eastern Orthodox Christianity before accepting Islam because both Islam and Orthodoxy have an inward journey of spiritual warfare and struggle to destroy the ego and sinful nature. (A big part Jihad). Orthodoxy also makes the Eastern world less scary. That’s why I call it the Orthodoxy to Islam pipeline.
6. You start to realize that the loving and merciful God you know in Trad Catholicism or Orthodoxy also exists in Islam (same exact feeling). The Trinity stops making sense because you realize you no longer need it to feel God’s love or guidance.
7. You eventually start to see how Islam could actually save the West instead of destroying it.
8. You still retain many of your conservative beliefs including a desire to end the wars and mass migration but you no longer feel as hostile to outsiders.
9. You become Muslim quietly without even realizing it at first and then you eventually announce it in stages.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
خيارُكم في الجاهليةِ ، خيارُكم في الإسلامِ إذا فقُهوا
“The best of you in the time of ignorance (Jāhiliyyah) are the best of you in Islam, if they gain understanding.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari 3383; Sahih Muslim 2378
