@NotSureXP @Jeff_Palouse @NeilShenvi I would argue there is more evidence for her innocence, or at least naive exploitation, than there is that she was an enthusiastic partner. If you don’t want to call it rape I think that’s fair, but adultery with two equal parties is far from how it’s portrayed.

I think I’m saying that, based on the passage, nothing from the passage implies that Bathsheba was an active, much less enthusiastic, party to the event. At best she was mislead and manipulated.
