Prospects to Watch

Five Ohio prospects who caught my attention during this week's film study.

These are not rankings and are not intended to suggest players have been overlooked. Just five athletes whose tape stood out to me while studying Ohio film.

Highly intriguing tight end whose combination of size, movement skills, and advanced route running consistently creates matchup problems on film. Possesses a long, college-ready frame while running routes with impressive polish for his age, naturally stacking leverage, showing efficient footwork coming out of breaks on in-breaking routes, and using subtle route deception to put defenders in difficult positions underneath. Sneaky speed for a player of his build allows him to separate in space, while his length, extension ability, and catch radius make him a reliable target capable of high-pointing the football along the boundary. Physical after the catch, routinely requiring multiple defenders to bring him down, while also flashing the lateral quickness, technique, and strength to lead on kick-out blocks and seal the edge. Loose, fluid athlete whose versatility as both a receiver and blocker gives him legitimate mismatch potential and a high ceiling.

⏱️ Favorite Rep (0:43): One-on-one with a safety, he explodes off the line with a quick release before stacking the defender vertically, covering the first 10 yards in just four strides to showcase how quickly he eats up space. At the top of the route, he shortens his stride, sinks naturally into the break, and plants efficiently to create separation, displaying the footwork, body control, and movement skills of a much smaller athlete despite his size.

Flashes multiple pass-rush techniques, including an effective rip move to generate pressure, while also showing the awareness to get his hands into a passing lane and disrupt a throw.
