I am about to say something marginally political. Brace yourselves. 😎
I am a native Californian and a political independent. Here in California we have a Democrat governor, a Democrat super majority in the state legislature, and every major city has a Democrat mayor. And every election cycle every single poll reveals a majority of voters think the state is heading in the wrong direction. And yet we keep putting Democrats in office. California’s problems are all about policy. Period. You can’t blame “the other guy“ for the absolute horror that exists in our metro areas, or a budget that has collapsed due to the unrestrained funding of undocumented immigrants. It is the Dems fault and they need to own it. And perhaps we need to give someone else a shot at this. Just saying.
@FsuTHC4 100% the kid will not remember the game or the reality of the moment to even treasure the souvenir.
I went to disneyland as a 3 yr old and barely remember a few memories of a full day.
@swillysports@Nutrafol This was literally one of my favorite moments in baseball!!! I had the tv on and didn’t realize it was Howie at first. It was a crazy few days in my life. Ha

Tom DeLonge is used to going to Petco Park and hearing his Blink 182 jam “All the Small Things” sang by the whole stadium. But last night during a playoff game, he got a bit emotional about it with tears in his eyes. He even joined the crowd towards the end and sang in the camera. Cool stuff
a rare california political post 🚨
growing up in the central valley, i had friends who were the first in their families born here. i worked packing sheds with the people who grow the food that feeds the country. i tutored high school kids trying to be the first in their family to graduate, and i watched some of them make it to college. i served next to airmen from el salvador, mexico, brazil, and colombia.
those people made me better. they had a plan for their families and they worked it.
ten years ago my wife and i almost moved to nashville. we came back to california instead. eight years later the state is harder to recognize. newsom has run it as a progressive experiment: the border, homelessness, the la fires, covid mandates, and gas taxed until it hurts. people keep asking when i’m leaving. i’m not. this is still the most beautiful state in the country. i’m a ten-minute walk from the beach in carlsbad, down the street from my church, thirteen minutes from f3. my wife built her own counseling practice here. the community is rooted here. it’s worth staying and fighting for.
at the debate, xavier becerra said his parents came to california with $12 in their pockets and lived the california dream. his mother immigrated from mexico. his father was born in sacramento. becerra has also called both of them immigrants who came to this country with $12. you don’t get to recast a california-born citizen as an immigrant because the story polls better. that’s identity politics, not a biography.
california deserves better. if you live here, show up and vote for @stevehiltonx.
