@BergerSchuler A publisher I worked for was contacted by the TM holder for Styrofoam, who asked that we not print books with "Styrofoam cup" because the cups are not actually made of Styrofoam. I still flag it in books as a freelancer, but I wonder how many authors/editors stet it.

@GramrgednAngel Totally agree. I mean, unless people say "period" or "colon" (like a friend of mine does to be funny) while speaking, do they "speak in periods" either? Based on what I see in some FB posts and comments, people feel like they speak in ellipses. Or invented punctuation,,,
