@DanielAndrewsMP Thanks for all you’ve done from a grateful healthcare worker shaking her head at the people commenting here about mandates and debt as if a global pandemic should have been ignored. Lucky you all had a leader who cared more about you than you do about him or anyone else.
@3AW693 Poor pup. I hope it was ok. I’d be surprised if the paramedics who went were unsympathetic. Just panicking owners and a communication breakdown.
@MaryAnneThomas This is such a fundamentally great policy. Well done. Stay strong and know you’re fighting the good fight for real change and lasting improvement for all Victorians.
I've finally worked out why the constant statement of "underlying conditions" irks me so much when reporting Covid deaths. There is an implied end to the sentence which we all understand. What they are really saying is ...(and so we shouldn't be too concerned). Well, I am.
Just leaving the ER.
It was a long day. And a stunning amount of Covid.
Today I worked in an area that was temporarily converted into a makeshift ICU during the first COVID wave.
Here’s what different from then.
And also what challenges we’re facing with this surge in NYC: 🧵
@VictorianCHO Thank you so much for tirelessly trying to protect both the vulnerable and the healthcare system. From a grateful worker getting ready for what comes next.
Great to see mass gatherings in Melbourne today - at vaccination centres.
Those of us heading to work in hospitals are encouraged & supported by the actions of the determined, generous majority. #COVID19Vic
@timsout @Pandemic_Times Maybe there’s no scientific evidence yet but it’s clear common sense. As someone who drives around Victoria overnight for a living and sees how quiet the roads are with a curfew in effect - it clearly limits movement/opportunity for transmission. It should be Sydney wide.
I know I speak for an enormous number of colleagues when I express my confidence & respect for the work being done by @VictorianCHO, & all his colleagues across Australia. Their burden of responsibility is terrible & heavy. The work is never easy, & the stakes high. #COVID19Vic
@EliseK53 What fantastic reporting - thank you for the work you do Elise and the ABC. I hope Nadia feels the love and support today - she’s brave and she’s strong. The first judge and defence lawyers should be ashamed.
If you haven't seen it yet, here is this morning's story - the story of a strong young woman, a night that was meant to be a fun and a two-year legal process that includes questions one expert says "should shock our moral consciousness" https://t.co/SmQHcq2TZp
As the largest referral source for most hospitals EMS should demand the outcome. This data is essential for continuous quality improvement and system performance. It should be free, standardized for all PCR platforms, and the top priority of our professional associations.
