बदलाव के लिए किसी का गढ़ देखकर मैदान नहीं छोड़ा जाता, बल्कि वहीं जाकर चुनौती दी जाती है।

समझ नहीं आ रहा प्रशांत किशोर के बाँकीपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से लड़ने के ऐलान के बाद जान सुराजी फिर से क्यों उत्साहित हो गए हैं। कुछ होने-जाने वाला नहीं है।

ये नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि अभी-अभी पिछले वर्ष हुए बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव में 'जन सुराज' को मात्र 3.34% वोट मिले पूरे राज्य में। IP गुप्ता ने पार्टी बनाकर एक सीट निकाल ली, लेकिन प्रशांत किशोर की पार्टी एक अदद सीट के लिए तरस गई।

बाँकीपुर (पटना वेस्ट) अबतक कायस्थों का अभेद्य किला रहा है। नितिन नवीन इसी जाति से आते हैं। पिछले 31 वर्षों से उनके पिता और फिर उन्होंने इस सीट का प्रतिनिधित्व किया है। उन्हें विश्व की सबसे बड़ी पार्टी ने राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष बनाया। निश्चित ही, उनके समर्थकों के लिए ये गर्व की बात है। अध्यक्ष बनने के बाद वो कई बार पटना पहुँचे भी, समर्थकों से मिले-जुले, पिता की प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण किया।

बाँकीपुर से जीतने वाले कायस्थ नेताओं KB सहाय और महामाया प्रसाद CM भी बने। पटना के मौजूदा सांसद रविशंकर प्रसाद के पिता ठाकुर प्रसाद यहाँ से MLA रहे, वो भी कायस्थ थे। भाजपा यहाँ आधी से अधिक वोट लाती रही है, गढ़ है ये।

भरत तिवारी के एनकाउंटर का अधिक असर नहीं होगा, ये चुनावी मुद्दा नहीं है। भाजपा बहुत आसानी से इस सीट को निकालेगी। जिस तरह अरविंद केजरीवाल ने हार तय होने के बावजूद चर्चाएँ बटोरने के लिए 2014 में नरेंद्र मोदी के ख़िलाफ़ वाराणसी से ताल ठोकी थी, उसी तरह PK भी बाँकीपुर से लड़कर सिर्फ़ ख़बरों में बने रहना चाहते हैं। ये उनकी रणनीति है प्रासङ्गिक बने रहने की, और कुछ नहीं।
