A few weeks ago, Class 4 went on their local area walk around Calow as part of our Geography learning. We looked at how the area had changed, different types of housing, new houses compared to older houses and the different road names and what these may mean!
Finally, we all had a turn at using flint and steel to create sparks to set a small piece of cotton wool alight! Miss Wood was not so successful in starting a fire - we will save the marshmallows for next time!
Due to the snow, our Forest School areas were a bit wet and slippy for our second session, so we played in the snow! Miss Wood won the snowball fight hands down!
Class 4 investigated states of matter changing from solid to liquid today through melting! I’m sure we could’ve used an ice cube instead, but it wouldn’t have been as yummy! 😋 🧁
We learned all about the wonderful features of the mosque and looked at the wudu (the wash room). Our group activity taught us very important messages. 🕌🚰 @CalowCofEClass4
Our final stop on our faith walk was the Sikh Gurdwara. We found the place of worship fascinating, had fun playing traditional instruments and really enjoyed the langar meal. @CalowCofEClass4
