To all World Cup football enthusiasts, please be extra vigilant during this tournament period.
Reports indicate that criminals are targeting people late at night on boda bodas, at residential gates, and around traffic lights. Some allegedly pose as boda riders operating near bars and entertainment spots, while others may masquerade as ride-hailing drivers and share passengers' movements with criminal networks. In some cases, information about people's whereabouts is reportedly passed through WhatsApp groups or leaked by individuals familiar with their routines.
If possible:
Avoid travelling home very late at night.
• Do not publicly share your night plans or location.
• Be cautious when using boda bodas and ride-hailing services.
• Insist on using the main route and question any unexplained diversions.
• Stay alert when approaching your gate or stopping at traffic lights.
Residents of Kyanja, Najjera, Nakwero, Naalya, Namugongo, Kyengera and surrounding areas are encouraged to exercise extra caution and look out for one another.
Please share widely and report any suspicious activity to the police.
