The Centre for Media Monitoring found that the BBC gave Israeli deaths 33 times more coverage per fatality than Palestinian deaths.

The study, which analyzed over 35,000 pieces of content from October 2023 to October 2024, highlighted a stark disparity in news prioritization and framing.

While Palestinian fatalities outnumbered Israeli deaths by a ratio of 34:1 during the study period (42,010 to 1,246), BBC reports mentioned Israeli deaths 33 times more frequently per killing in written articles and 19 times more in broadcast packages.

Emotive terms such as "murdered," "slaughtered," and "atrocity" were used almost exclusively for Israeli victims. The term "murder" was applied to Israeli deaths 220 times compared to just once for a Palestinian death.

Israeli deaths were mentioned 16 times more in headlines and 30 times more in opening paragraphs on a per-fatality basis. BBC presenters shared the Israeli perspective 11 times more frequently than the Palestinian perspective (2,340 vs. 217 times).
