We warmly invite the community to join us in remembering Ann Ratcliffe (1944–2026), our first Deaf Chair at Cambridgeshire Deaf Association.
A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Ann’s life, leadership and the impact she had on the Deaf community.

For British Sign Language Week last week, Peterborough United mascot Pete Burrows is back! This time demonstrating some essential football signs every fan should know on match-day!
From the stands to the sidelines, he’s giving it a go… but after getting the hairdryer treatment at half-time.. did he do enough to redeem himself? 😅
Last week the Befriending Team enjoyed a fun bowling session in Peterborough. Volunteers supported clients with mobility needs, and Graham finished top of his team, a fantastic result!

We’re recruiting a Befriending Co-ordinator (Hearing Loss and BSL Services).
Thanks to extended National Lottery funding, we’re able to grow our befriending service supporting Deaf people, BSL users, and people with hearing loss who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
This is a people-focused role working closely with volunteers and service users to help build meaningful, supportive connections that make a real difference.
You don’t need to know BSL already. We’re looking for someone who is organised, compassionate, and passionate about inclusion, and we’ll support you to learn and develop in the role.
The post is full-time, based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
