I never thought my first time publically speaking about the Toronto Raptors would be on @globalnewsto but life has a crazy way of working out.
Truly grateful for the opportunity and was so exciting to talk about how crazy the past couple of weeks have been for the Raptors.
Myself & @Pullup_Tre are back! and talking Raptors:
- it’s one game, but w/ real weaknesses
- Scottie’s approach
- navigating POA D
- Ja’Kobe/Graves 😁😁
- Magic doubleheader looms
+ more!

BREAKING: Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; Cason Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months -- most, if not the entire season.
@samfolkk Insane. I still can’t believe that crazy thing that happened, happened like that and the game never went on. Such a shame. As I said, the entire NBA community was so excited for it, but alas, that thing happened and so the game couldn’t go on.
@latwttb284452 I agree, but I don’t know that it has to be Barnes, at least not to this degree. Nearly half his shots yesterday were threes, and he only had three shots at the rim. And they aren’t even really shooting more threes than last year is the crazy part.
Scottie Barnes hasn't been good enough. Point blank. His offensive process is not prioritizing the right things, he's settling for jumpers and while he's an incredible defender, the team won't win if he continues to play this way. He needs to attack the rim wayyyy more.
The Raptors got absolutely blown out, and Scottie Barnes played the worst game of his career. The Minnesota Timberwolves are legit. The Raptors had few bright spots tonight, and the score shows it.

One positive from this game: Ja'Kobe Walter is looking for his shot off the dribble and has been decent at doing so. That side-step three was ridiculous.
Where would the Raptors be without RJ Barrett? I'm so serious you can't trade him. Do whatever else it takes because imagine this offense without Barrett right now.

I will say, I thought the Raptors were taking a considerable amount more threes this season, but they're averaging 32.5 across their first two games. Last season they shot 32.1 per game. They rank at the very bottom of the league in three point attempts.
Kawhi's shooting will help and his gravity should create better looks for everybody else, but I'm still skeptical about the Raptors' 'take more 3s' plan. Just not enough shooting on this roster.
Kawhi now being out for Raptors-Wolves definitely takes some air out of it but still think this will be a fun game. RJ Barrett the ultimate step up guy and the Raptors defense will still be top notch.
