@ReannaGoya Tesla isn’t ‘knowingly allowing’ it. They’re actively cracking down on these hacks with remote FSD disablement and VIN-level bans. The LHD-only behaviour you’re seeing isn’t code Tesla left in for Australia; it’s the only model that exists for HW3 right now.

@ReannaGoya The CAN bus hack just flips the regional enable bit, it doesn’t swap in a different model or add any RHD training. So FSD unlocks, but it’s still driven by the same end-to-end neural net that ships in the global HW3 firmware, which was trained almost entirely on US/Canada data.

@Deandawiz @SquireBailey When using the CAN bus hack in Australia, HW3 uses a LHD model, rather than the correct RHD model that HW4 uses. So @SquireBailey is not incorrect at all.
