For 14 months, the Conservatives have told the Government again and again the terrible impact of this vindictive tax. For 14 months, they have dismissed farmers' concerns out of hand, relying on dodgy numbers and refusing to acknowledge the harm their taxes are causing.

Today, they finally conceded that they were wrong. This announcement, while welcome, does not undo the months of distress, pain, and panic, in rural communities.

Farmers will not forgive Labour or forget just because of a partial u-turn. They know it is only the Conservatives who will scrap the Family Farm and Family Business Taxes in their entirety.
