Victorian harness racing is at the crossroads.
The Moonee Valley dream is over and all or at least part of Melton must be sold to sustain the sport.
But … HRV will remain a statutory body until a financial outcome is finalized on Melton.
How much of any sale will the State Government take?
How much of Melton will need to be sold? Can the track remain?
The Showgrounds is not an option because of heritage listed buildings.
It’s not dramatic to say how Melton plays will decide the future of the sport as we know it.
