Course Opening:
As UN peacekeeping operations face increasingly complex security environments, effective preparation of military observers is more critical than ever.
The United Nations Military Observers Training of Trainers (UNMO ToT) is a two-week course hosted by the KAIPTC in Accra, in collaboration with the United Nations Integrated Training Service (UNITS) and fully funded by Canada.
The course equips participants with the military, analytical, interpersonal and instructional skills needed to prepare military observers for contemporary peacekeeping. It was led by Col. Samson Adeola Salawu, UN Course Director, and a team from UNITS.

During the reception, Canadian High Commissioner Myriam Montrat and Ghana's Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, reflected on the deepening Canada-Ghana partnership, with bilateral trade between countries reaching US$752 million in 2025, up 56% year-over-year.
Minister Jinapor emphasized responsible mining among as one of the sectors with significant potential to further strengthen collaboration between Canada and Ghana.
