Members of the 2026 McMaster University Torch Team showcased the Torch's new exoskeleton support arm, designed to improve its ceremonial presence.

For the 104th time, the Warriors' Day Parade opened the C.N.E. in Toronto--and The Canadian Remembrance Torch was there, leading the way.

This year's Parade commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the Liberation of the Netherlands.

The evening Torch procession to Almen paid tribute to the 40 Canadians temporarily buried in the garden of Het Elger in Apr '45, just before the war ended in May. These soldiers—whose names were read during the starlit ceremony—were reinterred at Holten Cdn War Cemetery in 1946.

The Apeldoorn Parade was a highlight of the flame’s journey that began on Parliament Hill in Ottawa in June 2024, continued to Juno Beach (Normandy) for D-Day's 80th, on to Vlissingen and Apeldoorn (the Netherlands), finishing in Wageningen on Dutch Liberation Day 2025.

The Torch recently travelled to the Netherlands to honour the 80th anni of the end of the Second World War & the Dutch Liberation. Special thanks to the young "In Our Fathers' Footsteps" participants who carried the Torch & led 130 Canadians along the paths of the Cdn troops.

On May 28th, the Torch helped mark the 25th anniversary of the entombment of Canada’s Unknown Soldier at the War Memorial in Ottawa.

The Tomb honours the more than 120,000 Canadians who have given their lives for peace and freedom, especially those with no known grave.
